Antarctica New Zealand and the Royal Society of New Zealand are proud
to announce a conference celebrating 50 years of New Zealand's
involvement in the Antarctic. The conference aims to present the
successes of the past (International Geophysical Year to present day)
and enthuse New Zealand about its future in Antarctica.
This five-day conference combines invited talks from national and
international speakers, presentations from artists, media and students,
film screenings, panel discussions, poster sessions, and social
functions. The main conference is preceded by a day of
workshops/meetings and Antarctica New Zealand sessions.
The latest version of the conference programme can be downloaded from
www.antarcticanz.govt.nz.
We invite those with any interests in Antarctica to join us in this
conference and celebration, to build on the past and work towards the
future in the spirit of the International Polar Year (2007-2009). In
particular we invite Antarctica New Zealand supported events and groups
with interests related to Antarctica and Antarctic research to present
their work in a poster presentation.
