Binucleate pollen in Triglochin L.

Abstract Pollen of Triglochin striatum (Juncaginaceae) and Aponogeton distachyus (Aponogeton-aceae) is binucleate at anthesis, in contrast to the trinucleate pollen previously recorded from the Alismatales-Najadales line of Monocotyledons.
