Abstract Type material of Fagus ninnisiana Unger consisting of the lectotype and syntypes housed in the Naturhistorisches Museum Vienna, includes specimens with preserved cuticle. Cuticu- lar anatomy confirms the placing of Fagus ninni- siana within Nothofagus.
