Abstract Two new species, Corybas iridescens and C. papa, are described and illustrated; both are summer-green terrestrial orchids previously included in the C. rivularis complex. C. iridescens and C. papa are especially common on roadside banks in western-central North Island, and the latter may prove to be confined to this region. C. rivularis s.s. and C. orbiculatus are circumscribed and illustrated, and the former name is typified. Other entities placed under the name C. rivularis require further taxonomic assessment.
