DETERMINATION OF AGE OF KAHAWAI ARRIPIS TRUTTA (BLOCK & SCHNEIDER)

Abstract Scales are unsuitable for age determination in Arripis trutta older than 5y (approximately equivalent to 40 cm L.C.F.). Otoliths can be used for fish of all ages. The maximum age recorded is 22 y.
