Discovery of a specimen of Lycoteuthis lorigera (Steenstrup, 1875) (Cephalopoda: Teuthoidea) from New Zealand and additional notes on its morphology

Abstract
A specimen of
Lycoteuthis lorigera (Steenstrup, 1875) (Cephalopoda: Teuthoidea), known only from the holotype, has been discovered off New Zealand. The presence of paired male genitalia and five ocular photophores is confirmed. Additional descriptions include arm tip and keel morphology, integumenital photophores, and spermatophores. The specimen is deposited in the National Museum of New Zealand, catalogue no. NMNZM89588.
