Redescription of Isohypsibius wilsoni and description of two new species of Isohypsibius (Eutardigrada) from New Zealand

Abstract  Isohypsibius wilsoni (Horning, Schuster & Grigarick, 1978) was originally described as a very variable species. I examined the holotype, two paratypes, and five other specimens attributed to Isohypsibius wilsoni by Horning et al., and realised that they belong to several different species.

Isohypsibius wilsoni is redescribed and the new species, Isohypsibius campbellensis n. sp. and Isohypsibius palmai n. sp., are described.

The three species differ in the cuticular sculpture, the bucco-pharyngeal apparatus, the claw shape, and the presence/absence of eyes and cuticular bars on the first three pairs of legs.
