Biographical Information

Professor Rod Gover is recognised internationally as a leading expert in geometry and its applications to analysis, differential equations and theoretical physics. His particular speciality is a broad class of structures known as parabolic geometries which include many classical structures along with exotic geometries. These areas form the modern frontier of research in conformal geometry.

Professor Gover’s early outstanding achievements included sole author papers presenting near complete solutions to important invariant theory problems in a programme initiated by Fields medallist, Charles Fefferman.

Other highly significant collaborative work resulted in a complete solution to an operator classification problem by solving an important open conjecture. His recent work has been even more influential and is contributing to advances in disparate fields from theoretical physics to the treatment of differential equations.
