The Royal Society Expert Panel on Antarctic Sciences (RSEPAS) was formed to provide advice to the Society on Antarctic Science matters.

RSEPAS also acts as the National Committee on Antarctic Science when co-ordinating matters for the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR), a subcommittee of the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU), such as for protected area management plans or guidelines on environmental impact assessment.

The committee is serviced by the Royal Society of New Zealand.
