The award honours those who have achieved distinction in the protection, maintenance, management, improvement or understanding of the environment, in particular the sustainable management of the New Zealand environment. The award is made every three years and consists of a medal and a cash grant.
Please note: The successful recipient is required to undertake an all expenses paid public lecture tour, visiting selected Royal Society Branches, in the year following the award.
The Charles Fleming Award for Environmental Achievement will next be offered in 2013. The closing date for nomination is 30 June 2013.
