The Thomson Medal is awarded annually for outstanding and inspirational leadership in the management of science leading to the development and application of science and/or technology to wealth generation in New Zealand.
From 2009 the Royal Society of New Zealand has attached prize money of $15,000 to the Thomson Medal.
Applications are now being called for the 2012 Thomson Medal. The closing date for application is 30 June 2012.
