Abstract
The purposes of this paper are to review the reason, structure, and goals of the Australasian Grass Improvement Program (AGIP) and to introduce the goals of a workshop held at Hamilton, Victoria, on 27-29 October 1993. The workshop gave rise to the technical papers in this Special Issue of the New Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research.
