The paper aims to inform by highlighting changes in land use in rural and urban land areas and the role that land use planning could play in helping resolve conflicts over land resources, by integrating policies, processes and guidelines at a national, regional and local level. Contributors to the paper include a range of experts from across the New Zealand research community.
The Society held a workshop on the issue on 12 December in Auckland to carry on the discussions for invited researchers and policy-makers in this area. Details of the programme and presentations are outlined above.
