This Scheme, funded by the Government and administered by the Royal Society of New Zealand, offers primary, intermediate and secondary teachers the opportunity to improve their teaching through working in New Zealand based host organisations for 2 terms.
There are currently two types of Teacher Fellowships. Both place teachers into a research/technology environment, however they differ in their eligibility and overall focus

Primary Science Teacher Fellowships
A two term fellowship designed to create curriculum leaders in science for the primary sector. This initiative is designed to be school-wide and requires an agreement from the school to make science a priority learning area for the year following the fellowship. -
Applications for terms 1 and 2 2013 close on 20 August 2012.
- Endeavour Teacher Fellowships
This is a two term Fellowship open to all fully registered teachers who have taught in the sciences, mathematics or technology for 5 or more years, and who hold a permanent position in a recognised New Zealand school. Successful applicants work on a project in conjunction with a host organisation to gain a better understanding of how science, mathematics and technology are applied outside of the classroom. A focus in the selection process is how the Fellowship experience will enhance your lessons when you return to the classroom. The Fellowship also includes a Leadership Programme designed to provide you with leadership skills for your return to school, and which is intended to assist you in promoting your subject to others in education. - The closing date for the first intake of 2013 is 20 August 2012.
