Nutrition before and after birth – magic and mystery
Generally we think about nutrition in terms of energy and growth, but in the fetus and newborn, the increase in weight and linear measurements that constitute ‘growth’ are only a part of the role of nutrition.
This talk will explore the importance of the nutritional environment on developing organs and physiological systems, and the magic of the non-nutritive elements of breast milk.
