Primary CREST: NIWA Ocean Investigations

A series of activities related to the sea from New Zealand’s National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, provider of atmospheric and aquatic science and associated commercial services.


Welcome to the Primary CREST: NIWA Ocean Investigations.

These activities are designed to help teachers feel more confident teaching science and to provide opportunities for children to:

  • explore scientific concepts with hands on activities,
  • discuss their scientific ideas
  • predict, observe and explain what they are doing

The teacher notes provide all the information needed including:
