2023 Rutherford Discovery and Rutherford Foundation Fellowship Roadshow
This page includes information on fellowship roadshows for the year 2023 organised by Te Apārangi.
The focus of the Roadshow is to give an overview of Early to Mid Career Fellowships administered by Royal Society Te Apārangi, in particular the Rutherford Discovery Fellowship and Rutherford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. The Roadshow will go through eligibility criteria and application process and provide an opportunity for applicants to ask questions about the application and assessment process.
The Fellowships being discussed are:
- The Rutherford Discovery Fellowship (applications open 2 March and close 27 April)
- The Rutherford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship (Applications open 08 June and close 03 August)
- JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (for research in Japan for 12-24 months; currently open - applications close on 20 April)

Please note that at some locations the Fellowship Roadshow will be followed by a Catalyst Roadshow. This will provide an overview of funding opportunities for international research collaboration available through Catalyst: Seeding and Catalyst: Leaders. The Roadshow will also discuss the most common reasons for why a Catalyst Seeding proposal does not score well.
Last but not least, the Catalyst Roadshow will also discuss funding opportunities available through the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP).
