Alcohol causes cancer
This project summarises research about how drinking alcohol can cause cancer and will inform diverse audiences and motivate positive behavioural change.
This project:
- Summarises the research that links consumption of alcohol with increased risk of certain cancers.
- Summarises the rates of drinking and of drinking-related cancers in Aotearoa New Zealand across different demographics.
- Assesses the public perception of alcohol as a carcinogen in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Royal Society Te Apārangi staff will prepare the factsheet, guided by New Zealand and international experts in the appropriate fields and stakeholder feedback.
