Ringa raupā: Transforming research

Distinguished Professor Graham Hingangaroa Smith's academic work accentuates both these meanings in seeking to transform persisting high and disproportionate levels of Māori social, economic and cultural under-development. Firstly, through producing research outcomes that are transforming of these conditions of under-development, secondly, through transforming the processes of research in order that they might be more culturally ‘fit for purpose’. His overall research approach has been focused on applying practical research enactments (ringa raupā) over the last forty years.
