Te Kura Kōhatu- School of Rock 2018

Applications close 20 April

A great opportunity for science teachers being held in Auckland in the July school holidays from 5 to 13 July.

The School of Rock is an annual event run on board the research vessel JOIDES Resolution but this year NZ gets to host the event on land for very first time.

Teachers will work with scientists and technicians to learn about many aspects of earth science, geology, paleo-oceanography and more done aboard JOIDES Resolution, what they learn from scientific drilling, and how to do the kinds of scientific analyses and lab exercises program-scientists do.

This experience may help teachers in creating or modifying existing resources for their students in many areas of the science curriculum.
