Research Funding COVID-19 Update #8

Royal Society Te Apārangi is taking steps to try to minimise the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on its operations, while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff, the people and communities with whom we work. Kia tū, kia oho, kia mataara tātou. Let us all be vigilant against COVID-19.

Marsden Fund 2021 EOI update

Monday February 15th 2021: With the recent move to Alert Level 3 for Auckland, and Alert Level 2 for the rest of Aotearoa New Zealand, we anticipate disruption to researchers and research offices, especially in Auckland. With Auckland-based researchers differentially affected by their Alert Levels it may be seen to disadvantage their applications during this period of disruption if we retain the current deadline. As a result, at this stage we are extending the application deadline for all EOIs by one week, to noon on Thursday 25th February 2021.

We hope at this stage that we will be able to keep to our EoI timetable, including the scheduled panel meetings.

This update is being sent to all Research Offices and all applicants in the full round.

Kia kaha tātou ki te tiaki i a tātou anō.  Let us be vigilant and take care of ourselves and others.
