Farewell event and portrait unveiling for Past President

Past President Richard Bedford reveals his new portrait.

A gathering was held at Te Whare Apārangi in Wellington on Monday night to celebrate Emeritus Professor Richard Bedford's achievements and contributions during his three-year term as President of the Society and to unveil his presidential portrait, painted by Marianne Muggeridge.

Royal Society Te Apārangi Chief Executive Dr Andrew Cleland FRSNZ gave some brief introductory remarks thanking Richard for his contribution and commitment to the Society, which was followed by a speech by current President Professor Wendy Larner FRSNZ and then a speech by Emeritus Professor Richard Bedford QSO FRSNZ.
