Submission on the Advanced Technology Institute Bill
2012: Te Apārangi responded to the Education and Science Select Committee on the proposed Advanced Technology Institute Bill. This bill seeks to create a new Crown entity with the intention of supporting research, investment, and innovation in high-value manufacturing as a means lifting the New Zealand economy. The Society raised concerns over the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the ATI and it’s absorption of Industrial Research Limited. We comment that this upheaval risks losing important research skill and capability from the country.
