Health Research Council of New Zealand Medal.
This award is presented to an individual or team whose recent research has produced a significant breakthrough within the health and medical fields that is internationally recognised.
Award details
Discipline: Medical and health sciences
Award offered: Yearly
Prize: Medal
The Liley Medal honours the outstanding contributions made by Sir William Liley while at the National Women’s hospital in Auckland.
The Liley Medal is for a research contribution from the previous calendar year. Authors must have permission for dissemination from the publisher. The eligible work must also have been carried out and published while the health researcher was predominantly in New Zealand. An accumulated body of work to mark a career contribution over a number of years does not meet the criteria for the award. Nominees (individuals or team) are eligible to receive the Liley Medal more than once, with a 5-year stand down period following receipt of award. Current HRC Council members are not eligible to receive the award while in post.
