In this presentation, Denise discusses how conversations about Māori women are deficit frame. Changing the basis of deficit narratives requires new knowledge to disrupt current thinking and practice of policy-makers, service planners and practitioners. E Tū Wāhine, E Tū Whānau is an example of a kaupapa Māori strengths-based approach to generate knowledge to assist transformation.
