How can we reverse the trend of worsening child health and wellbeing in Aotearoa New Zealand, and address widening inequities?

The health and wellbeing of children is declining, particularly for some groups.
Research shows that the early years, to age 5, are critical for improvement of infant mortality, obesity, malnutrition, mental health, tooth decay, and infectious disease.
Inequities are driven by discrimination, poverty, education, and housing.
Evidence shows that investment in interventions and policies would not only improve child health, but also reduce healthcare costs, improve social indicators, and increase productivity in the long term.
