About the Human Frontier Science Program.

The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) promotes international collaboration in basic research focused on the elucidation of the sophisticated and complex mechanisms of living organisms.

The programme emphasises novel international and interdisciplinary collaborations that bring together life scientists with disciplines such as physics, mathematics, chemistry, computer science and engineering to address questions at the frontier of the life sciences. It funds novel and daring new ideas into the complex mechanisms of living organisms, from molecular level to complex biological system.

The organisation funds programme grants, early career grants, and 3-year Postdoctoral Fellowships.

As an HFSP-member country, New Zealand researchers have access to apply for HFSP funding, and New Zealand research organisations are eligible to host HFSP postdoctoral fellows from abroad.
