Grazed pastures are the key competitive advantage underpinning half of New Zealand’s total income from goods exports. Recent signals indicate that the resilience of these unique vegetation communities is coming under significant pressure. Critical gaps in scientific knowledge and innovation required to resist this pressure will be identified and discussed.
