Joshua Anto: Breaking the wall of orbital limits

Participant in 2026 Falling Walls Lab Aotearoa New Zealand.

Most satellites operate as isolated systems, limited by onboard power and storage during each orbit. I aim to break this wall by creating a shared orbital utility platform that provides supplemental power and data relay services, allowing satellites to capture more data, operate longer, reduce costs, and improve mission productivity without launching additional spacecraft.

Joshua Anto is a postgraduate student at the University of Auckland with a background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. His interests focus on spacecraft systems, orbital infrastructure, and emerging space technologies.  He is passionate about developing scalable orbital utility systems that improve satellite productivity and sustainability in space. Joshua combines systems engineering, technical innovation, and long-term strategic thinking to explore future-focused solutions for the evolving space industry.
