Leadership transition for the Society

Paul Atkins is moving on from his role as Tumu Whakarae – Chief Executive of the Royal Society Te Apārangi.

Paul will remain in his role as Chief Executive until September to allow a smooth transition.

Society President Distinguished Professor Dame Jane Harding FRSNZ said this timing will allow the Society to appoint a suitable successor and maintain continuity and momentum for the organisation's ambitious workplan.

"Although there will be opportunity in the future to thank Paul more formally, I would like at this stage to express our sincere gratitude for his leadership over the past 4 years and for his many contributions to the Society, including our long-term strategy."

"We look forward to continuing to work with him over the next few months," she said.
